Who wanders through Adelboden's quiet valleys, wonders
You will search in vain for a shopping street in the village of Adelboden. We do, however, have five peaceful and green side valleys in which to wander and wonder. There are also many railways and cable cars to take you from the valleys up to the mountains. The nights are cool and will give you a chance to breathe deeply.
Inclusive hiking pass
The hiking pass which we provide to you during the summer months means that the mountains lay open to you. You can enjoy free rides on mountain railways and busses throughout your entire stay (from 9th June to 21th October 2018). Let yourself be carried up to the most beautiful mountain views, on the Tschentenalp, Silleren, on the high alpine plateau of the Engstligenalp and the airy Hahnenmoss Pass. Frutigland Cultural Trail
Discover the features of the region while hiking. The Frutigland Cultural Trail makes this easy, leading through the Engstlig, Kander, Kien and Frutig valleys and providing insight into the agriculture of mountain valleys, their historical background and the spiritual legacy of their inhabitants. Also explained are the typical architecture and handicrafts of the valleys.
On the trail of the World Champions
The experience trail on the Chuenisbärgli pays homage to the Adelboden World Cup ski races. The partly newly-created nature trail leads along the piste and up the mountain. How could it be any different: the viewpoints are named after the winners and document the history of the race. In addition, the sponsor, Bernische Kraftwerke, provides information about power and energy.
Water: the elixir of life
Another experience trail addresses the topic of water in connection with alpine wellbeing. It leads from Oey along the Engstligenbach to Unter dem Birg and the waterfall and energises both body and mind, for example with a drink of mineral water directly from the source. The themed trail also invites you to go barefoot and to experience water through specially installed viewing boxes. The Blausee-Mitholz-Kandergrund Railroad Experience Trail and the «schutz.wald.mensch» Educational Trail are also worth visiting.
If you want to further expand your knowledge of alpine flowers or just want to admire the glorious blooms, visit the Höreli Alpine Garden on the Hörnliweg. Here you will find 700 different flowers and herbs. 400 species are labelled in German, Latin and French.
